Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition

I was already a massive X fan and played it a lot on the Wii U, so really my only thoughts are about the new chapter.

And honestly, I think I’d have to play it again to solidify my thoughts about it and write up something actually good about it. I liked Al at least.

The pacing felt kind of rushed and the new continent was definitely not implemented how I imagined it would be. But, I do have to keep in mind that they had a lot of stuff to shove into a shorter epilogue instead of having a more fleshed out but independent game like the other Chronicles’ DLCs.

I don’t think Lao’s scene was at all what they had originally planned for him, it just seems really strange, but it still didn’t stop me from pointing at the screen and saying “Beach of Nothingness!!!”. The other little tidbits in that one cutscene got me too. You know what I’m talking about.

Overall I did like the new chapter, I think for similar reasons to why people don’t like it. Oh well. One complaint I hated seeing was people complaining that it didn’t answer literally every open question the original game had and I just hate that. God forbid you might be left to think about something for yourself.

Who cares that the epilogue didn’t have Eleonora look at the camera and explicitly say what J-bodies are. Make your own theories! I feel like it’s implied they’re a way to make artificial mims with implanted memories as a way to bolster a shrinking real mim workforce, but sure, whine that the game doesn’t explicitly tell you about it.

Yeah that’s what I got. Beach of Nothingness, Collective Unconscious, Zohar, Lost Jerusalem? Working on getting that 100% map completion as I type. Gotta AFK grind Bonjelium for augments.
